A dynamic folk/bluegrass band whose songs take listeners back to simpler times and portray a rawness that embodies the pioneer spirit of the “American west”. Fronted by the songwriting duo of Jillian Secor and Alex Stephens, MerryGold stretches the traditional boundaries of bluegrass and incorporates elements of American Cajun and Eastern European gypsy music. They earned a prestigious “Sammie” (Sacramento Music Awards) in 2016 in the Americana/Alt. Country category.
