About Us
This is a wilderness adventure overnight summer camp where boys and girls aged 8 to 17, find fun, friends and adventure. The camp is nestled on the peaceful headwaters of the North Yuba River in the Tahoe National Forest.

Kids have fun, but that's only part of what makes this camp special. It's the magic and community that goes into increasing your child's independence, confidence, social skills, knowledge of nature, outdoor skills, and instilling a lasting thirst for adventure.
Services
In addition to the classic summer camp activities of camp fire, swimming (pool and lakes), arts & crafts, archery, volleyball, and performing arts, your child will enjoy wilderness adventure activities such as mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, backpacking and much more.
Who we are
Lisa and Scott Shaffer own and operate Shaffer's High Sierra Camp, which they started in 2000. The camp is accredited and has been named by Outside Magazine as one of the magazine's 5 favorites camps in the entire US, and has been recommended by the Los Angeles Times.

The entire Camp staff is are excited to help kids take another step toward becoming happy, healthy, well-adjusted adults.
