The Sierra County Arts Council’s Artist in Schools Fine Art Raffle will be featured in front of the Gallery in Sierra City at the  “Beer and Wine in the Woods” celebration on August 16.  This raffle raises funds to contribute to the Artists in Schools Program.  Donated art for the raffle includes the fine art photography of Mark Stevenson and RJ Bauer, a watercolor by B.J. Jordan, and a beautiful quilted wall hanging created by the Mountain Star Quilters.

The Sierra County Arts Council is pleased to announce that it will receive a grant from the California Arts Council to help fund the Artists in Schools Program in Sierra County Schools this coming school year. This funding will pay artists Katie O’Hara-Kelly to teach Fine Art in Downieville Schools and Liz Henson to teach Graphic Arts at Loyalton High School.  Funds raised by the raffle will go to meet dollar-for-dollar matching fund requirement for the grant.  Buy a raffle ticket, have the chance to win one of these beautiful pieces of art, and support arts education.
